Welcome to janeandjane,  the online gallery for my ceramic designs

My career started in fashion and is now in the visual arts, so seems to have reached a serendipitous point:
a passion for fashion + an obsession with craft, especially vintage textiles and china = janeandjane,
a name inspired by Jean Muir's first fashion label.

  I create and hand paint designs for earthenware inspired by colours and patterns from vintage textiles, ceramics and fashion prints. I concentrate on tableware as my pieces represent the duality of function and celebration. The circular form of the bowls is tactile and inherently female. Teapots have a wonderful sculptural form and have an ability to add a sense of occasion to a simple act. I have been working on new designs for dinner plates and will showcase these designs at the Open House...

My ethos is simple: janeandjane designs should brighten the space they are in....
